Cara Victoria Reaves
Editor of The AI Five. I read the threads so you can read five things.
AI ships something new every hour. Most of it does not matter yet. The AI Five exists to tell you which five things do, every four days, in five minutes.
I'm a graduate of Spelman College, where I studied International Studies with a focus on International Development and Foreign Investment. That training is about one habit: never trust the announcement, check what people on the ground are actually doing. I bring the same habit to AI.
So every item in an issue has to clear a thread of real users on Reddit before it clears me. A new model has to have people reporting what it does better. A tool has to have people who installed it. A company move has to change what you can build, not what a press release says. Then I write it up in plain language, link the thread and the primary source, and keep it to five.
